![]() ![]() We Must Go – Run With The Wind (This anime is a hidden gem. It almost brings me to tears every time, and then bursts into something that can draw out so much motivation and inspiration in you, it’s really such a special song. It summons up such an unbelievable amount of emotion before the climax. Might+U makes me feel something more akin to the message of being a hero To sacrifice oneself to save everyone. ![]() ![]() She’s scored soundtracks for some of the biggest anime in recent years, such as the Kara no Kyoukai series and Puella Magi Madoka Magica. It makes you feel like the hero in the scene can overcome the obstacle. With the recent digital release of a bunch of composer Hiroyuki Sawano’s amazing anime soundtracksincluding a physical vinyl release for his music that fueled TRIGGER’s unforgettable PROMARE anime filmwe got a chance to speak with the artist about what composing for anime is really like. She began composing soundtracks for anime in 1996, and has gone on to become one of the most popular anime composers. You Say Run is this constant build of hype-filled emotion that continuously wells up and then erupts. Unlike the previous version of You Say Run, Might+U hits you in a completely different way. This was a newly unveiled song that played during the Heroes Rising film and also during the latest season of My Hero Academia during the fight between Deku and Overhaul. Haikyuu and My Hero Academia are likely what most people know Hayashi’s music from, so we’ll use those two as an example of the way his music can transform a scene, Might+U in particular. Some of the standouts being: My Hero Academia, Haikyuu, Welcome to the Ballroom, Junji Ito Collection, and Run With The Wind. The theme music for most anime tends to be catchy songs deliberately written for release to the pop/rock music market, if they arent already actual pop/rock songs. I think Kanno can be just as melodic as Kajiura. He’s got a real talent for when it comes to music like that, which is perfect considering the series that he has composed for. Yoko probably is the most dynamic composer, while Yuki is the more melodic composer. Haruka Nanami, an aspiring composer from the countryside, longs to write music for her beloved idol, Hayato Ichinose. Yuki Hayashi is one of my favourite composers when it comes to creating soundtracks that make you feel full of power and motivation. ![]()
